I’ve been back to Okinawa to shoot so many times since I met Awich. I’ve read all kinds of books and photo books to get to know the place a little better. But I always learn so much more just by being there and shooting. There’s really nothing like it.
For this video I built everything around a merman I’ve wanted to bring to life for years and captured little moments of people living in Okinawa.
There’s so much energy in the people and the land itself. You can’t really see it but it’s there. And I feel like it somehow gets captured on film.

Kiko Mizuhara is a multi-talented actress, model, and designer working primarily in Japan.
Here, Mizuhara expresses the joy of accepting and expressing the various "selves" contained within the self through fashion.
This short film follows her fragility and courage as she pushes forward despite struggles with critical Japanese voices that condemn those who take on unprecedented challenges.

"Nietzsche" Short Film

“Nietzsche” is a song I’ve been listening to on repeat ever since it came out in 2022.
I’ve always wanted to get Shimotsu and the guys in front of a camera acting someday, so I decided one of the three videos from this album was going to be a proper narrative piece.
The story is this psycho love story that I absolutely love. Shimotsu acted way beyond anything I expected or hoped for, and honestly the whole thing came out pretty terrifying. Like almost too real.
I think a lot of people are going to take it at face value because it feels so natural, but just so you know Shimotsu is actually a really chill, peaceful guy in real life.
